Masjidul Huda is the heart of Hilal Mahal — the families who pray, learn and care for one another here. This is who we are and where we are going.
A Mahallu is more than a mosque congregation. It is a living community of households bound together by faith, neighbourliness and shared responsibility — for the newborn and the elder, the student and the seeker, the family in comfort and the family in need.
Hilal Mahal takes its name from the hilal, the new crescent moon whose sighting opens each month of the Islamic calendar. It is a fitting name for a community that measures its life by seasons of worship, generosity and renewal. For over half a century, the families of this Mahallu have gathered under Masjidul Huda — “the mosque of guidance” — for daily prayer, Friday congregation, teaching and counsel.
To be a Mahallu where no family is left unseen, and every family is helped to grow. We are moving deliberately from a problem-response model — acting only when a crisis arrives — to a family-development model, where we understand each household’s strengths and needs, and walk alongside them in education, livelihood, wellbeing and faith.
To keep an accurate, private record of every family and member; to administer Zakat and welfare with fairness and dignity; to nurture our children through the Madrasa and our youth through mentoring; to support marriage, family life and personal development; and to run the affairs of Masjidul Huda with transparency and care.
Sensitive records — Zakat, welfare, counselling — are protected by role-based access. We help without stigmatising.
Applications follow a clear path from submission to review, approval and record — and funds are reported to the committee.

As the register grows, the Mahallu can gently understand how each family is faring across areas such as education, employment, financial stability, child development, relationships, skills and social participation. The purpose is never to label or rank — it is to notice where a household could use encouragement or support, and to offer it early, with respect.
